About me
Maya received her B.A. from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School. Maya joined the Office’s Legal Division in 2012 as part of the Hinton Drug Laboratory Investigation Team, which won a 2014 Manuel Carballo Governor’s Award for Excellence in Public Service. At the completion of the investigation, she joined the Regulatory and Compliance Division. In addition to investigatory and legal work for the Office, Maya provides Chapter 30B guidance to local officials, oversees the Office’s Chapter 30B and procurement technical assistance function, and is the lead Chapter 30B attorney and is the Deputy Director of Procurement Support in the Learning & Development Division of the Massachusetts Office of the Inspector General.
Before joining the Office, Maya spent several years as a town legislator where she reviewed and approved operating and capital budgets and advocated for local policies and changes in local regulations and by-laws.
