Advancing Digital Equity to Strengthen Personalized, Competency-Based Education

In this session, participants will deepen their understanding of the connections between digital equity and personalized, competency-based education. To begin, participants will learn about the 2024 National Education Technology Plan (NETP) and its framing of three divides limiting the potential of educational technology: digital use, digital access, and digital design. The session will then dive into how addressing these divides are critical for both ensuring digital equity and creating the conditions for more personalized and competency-based education to occur. Participants will leave with concrete resources and plans to move their schools and systems forward.
